There is a long coral ref. with lot of elkhorn and brain corals, sea fans, gorgonians and colorful coral fish. At 10 meters ( 33 feet) deep there are some ships intentionally sunkenwich turn in real artificial reefs, because they are completely covered by many sea creatures, food and shelter for lots of fish. At 12 meters ( 39 feet) deep you can find wide and deep rocky channels, falling softly on the wall up to 40 meters ( 131 feet) with a coat of massive, flat or column shape corals, big gorgonians and sponges. Barracudas, groupers, snappres, grunts, chubs, angel-fish, surgeonfish, parrotfish and many other fish of different sizes and colors, look like moving ornaments in this sunken garden. Also morays, lobsters, crabs, sea anemones and echinoderms are seen. In some seasons, nurs sharks, turtles, jeufish, eagle rays and the docile and impressive whale shark can also be seen. An important site is El Coral, wich takes its name from a 6 meters ( 20 feet) big coral colony resembling a catedral, the bighest in the whole Caribbean, known as Notre Dame.
